About We Are Human

We Are Human is a non-profit organization committed to promoting artificial intelligence in the service of creativity and human rights.

Who we are

We Are Human is a French non-profit organization (Association loi 1901) recognized as being of public interest, operating at the intersection of culture, innovation and civic engagement.

Its mission is to:

promote human rights through artistic creation

support the emergence of socially engaged talents

encourage responsible and inclusive uses of artificial intelligence

create spaces for reflection, dialogue and knowledge sharing

The project: We Are Human Festival

The association’s main initiative is the We Are Human Festival, an international festival dedicated to audiovisual works created in the age of artificial intelligence.

Designed as a space for creation, exhibition and reflection, the festival highlights stories that explore societal transformations and the contemporary challenges raised by technology.

It is built as a 30-year trajectory, based on the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Our approach

We advocate a clear position: artificial intelligence is not neutral; it shapes our imaginaries, narratives and societies.

We choose to engage with it as a tool to:

create

question

debate

transmit knowledge

We Are Human promotes an approach grounded in:

ethics

transparency

inclusion

diversity of narratives

An international ambition

From its inception, We Are Human has embraced an international vision.

The association develops collaborations with:

cultural institutions

public and diplomatic actors

artists and creators

socially engaged organizations

The festival takes place in Paris and across several cities worldwide, fostering intercultural dialogue and global dissemination.

Institutional recognition

Our official contribution, registered among the submissions to the Dialogue (Contribution Reference: 930), advocates a human rights-based approach to AI governance. It presents an editorial framework structured article by article around the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and positions the Ethics Notebook as a practical framework for fostering transparency, accountability, and trust in creative practice in the age of artificial intelligence.

An engaged ecosystem

The project is supported by a complementary ecosystem:

We Are Human Association, which carries the mission, values and public-interest initiatives

institutions, companies and collectives committed to supporting the project

The Founders

Michael Swierczynski

Founder & President · We Are Human · Co-founder & CEO · Dream Feel Factory

Twenty-five years at the intersection of culture, digital technology and innovation: it is this constant crossroads that defines Michael Swierczynski's career. Trained in philosophy, sociology and media law, he approaches the cultural and creative industries with both an analytical and creative eye, understanding the transformations of the world in order to better put them at the service of meaning. Through successive leadership roles, from INA to Forum des Images, from audiovisual heritage to new forms of immersive creation, he built a conviction: technology is only as valuable as what it allows us to tell, share and connect. In this spirit, he created the Paris Virtual Film Festival and then NewImages Festival, the world's first event dedicated to immersive experiences, before extending his scope to the private sector as Director of Innovation and Artistic Creation at a major European group. In parallel, he developed a strong commitment to the African continent: collaborations with ministries of culture, French institutions (Institut Français, Saison Africa 2020), creative organisations such as MansA, and participation in summits dedicated to the creative industries, including the Africa Forward Summit, the Africa Creation Forum, and the Digital Dome in Johannesburg. In 2025, he co-founded Dream Feel Factory, a cultural engineering studio specialising in immersive production and international cooperation, and created We Are Human, the natural culmination of an entire career: making artistic creation a space for necessary dialogue, and placing the technologies of our time at the service of human rights. A graduate of EHESS, Paris-Sorbonne and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, he brings to this project a vision that is at once cultural, ethical and geopolitical.

Elsa Swierczynski

Co-founder & CEO · Dream Feel Factory · Co-founder & Secretary General · We Are Human

Elsa Swierczynski is an entrepreneur and strategist whose career spans three seemingly distinct worlds: science, marketing and civic engagement and who has forged from them a singular approach: bringing rigour to the causes that matter, and creativity to the service of impact. She built her career in the non-profit sector, at the heart of one of France's largest solidarity movements, where she led the digital and marketing transformation of a nationally resonant cause for over a decade. There she developed innovative engagement strategies, digital partnerships, gaming, online community activation reaching millions of people and opening the associative cause to new audiences: younger, more connected. She also forged a conviction: digital is only a lever when it remains in service of a clear human intention. An entrepreneur in parallel, she co-founded her first venture as early as 2007, from product design through to commercial deployment, before joining Dream Feel Factory as CEO in 2024. There she applies her expertise to immersive production, cultural experiences and generative AI, with a constant attention to what technology creates in terms of connection, emotion and meaning. Within We Are Human, she embodies the most concrete dimension of the project: making the festival accessible, free, open to schools, associations and those with limited access to the digital world. Convinced that understanding artificial intelligence is a right and not a privilege, she drives the vision behind the workshops spaces where people come not to watch, but to do. A graduate in science and marketing management, she brings to this project a vision that is at once rigorous, creative and deeply human.

International Coordination & Cooperation

Charlotte Billy

Head of International Coordination & Cooperation · We Are Human

Charlotte Billy has built her career at the crossroads of cultural cooperation and international relations, convinced that creating spaces for encounter and intercultural creation drives positive change for societies. An expert in international cultural project management and in staging events with a strong political, cross-disciplinary and multi-partner dimension, she began in cinema, from running a student short-film festival to production, distribution and festivals, before turning to the promotion of European funding programmes, both sector-specific and structural, including the Culture 2007-2013 programme in the United Kingdom. She then spent ten years on the French government's "Saisons" programme, at the Institut français in Croatia and then in Paris, working with seven countries (Colombia, Romania, Portugal, Lithuania and others) and an entire continent (Africa2020). As a project manager for the cultural and creative industries, she supported more than 300 projects and developed expertise in contemporary music, video games and immersive art, with constant attention to gender equality. She went on to lead the "Saisons" team, driving strategy, delivery and the negotiation of bilateral international agreements, notably for the Season of Lithuania in France 2024 (650 events, 3,000 artists and professionals). A graduate of Sciences Po Bordeaux and the University of Turin through a joint French-Italian programme, she brings to We Are Human a vision that is at once international, rigorous and deeply human.
